
Getting UV Curing Right Without Breaking the Bank
Let’s be honest: most UV curing gear is built for the giants. It’s overpriced, clunky, and usually comes in a “take it or leave it” package that doesn’t actually fit how a smaller shop operates. We decided to change that. We build custom UV lamps for the mid-sized plants and small shops that need professional, hard-wearing gear but don’t have an enterprise budget to blow.
The science part (made simple)
Here’s the thing about UV: it’s all about the match. Your lamp has to play nice with your specific ink. If you need a quick surface cure, you want short-wave UV. If you’re printing thick layers that need to dry all the way through, you need longer wavelengths. But you have to be careful. Push too many watts into a small space? You’ll scorch your material. Not enough? Your ink stays tacky and ruins the job. We spend our time balancing the wattage and the tube length so your cure is consistent from the first print to the last.
Gear that actually fits
Standard, off-the-shelf lamps are a pain. They rarely just “fit” into a custom rig. We focus on the physical side of things. We customize the tube dimensions and the connectors so the lamp just drops right in. No hacking, no rigging, no headaches. We also use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because it lets more light hit your product instead of soaking it up into the glass. One thing to watch out for:heat. High-intensity lamps get hot. Really hot. If your conveyor is moving slowly, that heat can warp thin plastics. To fix that, you either need to sync your line speed with the lamp’s output or toss in some forced-air cooling to keep everything stable.
