The first thing we look at is your conveyor speed. If your line is flying, you need more wattage. Simple as that. If the lamp isn’t powerful enough, your product leaves the zone before it’s actually cured. We also make sure the voltage and current play nice with your existing ballasts. If they don’t match, you’re looking at a short lifespan for your bulbs or, worse, a lamp that barely puts out any light. Just double-check that your power supply can handle the load—nobody likes a voltage drop in the middle of a shift. The glass matters more than you think. We use high-purity fused quartz because it doesn’t soak up the UV rays; it lets them through. Depending on what you’re drying, we can tune the wavelength. Need to get deep into a thick coating? We’ll go with shortwave. Just drying the surface? Longer waves are your friend. And if your substrate is prone to warping, we can add specialized coatings to the glass to block out the IR heat. Just a heads-up: those filters do eat into your total UV output. You might need to add a few more lamps to keep your speed where it needs to be. Fitting them in.
