
Getting Your UV Curing Right for Textile Printing
We build UV lamp systems for the folks who design and build textile printing lines. The goal is pretty straightforward: we want that ink to set instantly, but we don’t want to burn a hole through your fabric.
Finding the Sweet Spot with Power
When you’re running a high-speed line, you need a concentrated punch of UV light. Whether you’re looking for a specific wattage or a custom length to fit your conveyor, it’s all about the balance. High intensity is great because it speeds everything up—your fabric spends less time under the lamp, and your throughput goes up. But here’s the catch. If you crank up the power without speeding up the line, you’re asking for trouble. You’ll end up with scorched fabric or ink that shrinks and looks messy. It’s a delicate dance.
The Glass and the Light
We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because it lets the most UV light through without getting in the way. For textiles, we focus on the exact wavelengths that make the ink “snap” into place. We can even add special coatings to filter out the infrared heat. That way, the energy goes into the chemical reaction—curing the ink—rather than just heating up your entire machine frame for no reason.
Making it Fit Your Build
Since we work as an ODM, we let you call the shots on the connectors and the electrical footprint. If you’ve got an old system that needs a drop-in replacement, we can do that. Or, if you’re starting from a blank sheet of paper, we can build a whole new array for you. Just a heads-up on the wiring: you’ve got to get the ballast matching exactly right. If the voltage or current is off, you’ll burn through your filaments way faster than you should.
Dealing with the Heat
Let’s be honest: high-output UV lamps get hot. Really hot. The UV light does the work of curing the ink, but it leaves a lot of thermal baggage behind. You’ll need to make sure your cooling fans or water jackets can handle the heat rise. If you skimp on ventilation, the housing will warp and your bulb life will tank by 30% or more. We provide the raw power, but keeping the system cool is where you come in.
