When we say 120W/cm, we’re talking about linear power density. In plain English? For every single centimeter of that lamp, you’re pulling 120 watts. If you’ve got a 500mm tube, you’re looking at a 6kW load. It sounds like a lot, but you need that punch to trigger the chemical reaction in your materials fast. This is what lets you keep your conveyor belts moving at high speeds. If the wattage dips, everything slows down. Or worse, your product fails the scratch test and you’re stuck dealing with a batch of rejects. The science bit (simplified) We use mercury-vapor discharge to get that specific UV spectrum.
